Driver/Porter - Car Wash
Overview
You own the movement of customer vehicles through every stage of our hand wash process at California Hand Wash. Our conveyor-driven tunnel and ceramic coating center process hundreds of cars daily. You join a small, hands-on team where advancement tracks into lead porter and shift supervisor roles. This role stands out for its outdoor, active work and clear growth path.
What You'll Do8
- 1Drive customer vehicles between wash bays, drying stations, and detailing bays without damage.
- 2Position vehicles onto the conveyor track with precise alignment for automated washing.
- 3Move vehicles to staging areas for hand drying, ceramic coating, or interior detailing.
- 4Inspect each vehicle for pre-existing damage and report findings to the shift lead.
- 5Keep wash lanes clear of obstacles to maintain steady throughput during peak volume.
- 6Assist with manual wash steps like tire cleaning and bug removal during high-traffic shifts.
- 7Follow safety protocols for vehicle handling and pedestrian awareness in tight spaces.
- 8Hand off completed vehicles to customers and help manage parking lot flow.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of continuous driving experience with a valid driver's license.
- 2Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or major violations in the past 3 years.
- 3Comfort operating both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- 4Ability to stand and walk for 7-8 hour shifts in outdoor conditions.
- 5Physical stamina to bend, kneel, and reach while spotting vehicles.
- 6English proficiency for reading work orders and communicating with teammates.
- 7Flexibility to work weekends and peak hours based on availability.
- 8No prior car wash experience required; we train on proper vehicle handling.
