What You'll Do10
- 1Operate straight trucks for pick-up and delivery, ensuring schedules are met.
- 2Secure freight using pallets, straps, and rope for safe transport.
- 3Perform daily pre-trip, post-trip, and safety inspections on equipment.
- 4Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays, arrivals, and equipment problems.
- 5Recoup or repair damaged freight as necessary during deliveries.
- 6Verify and complete required documentation and reports accurately.
- 7Load and unload trucks using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
- 8Comply with hazardous material regulations and confirm placarding matches shipments.
- 9Chain vehicle tires in winter conditions as required.
- 10Solicit new business while providing friendly, professional customer service.
Requirements9
- 1Valid CDL Class B license with hazardous materials and tank endorsements (HazMat within 120 days)
- 21+ year experience operating a straight truck or similar vehicle within recent 3 years
- 321+ years old
- 4Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- 5Ability to lift/carry freight up to 100 pounds
- 6Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, and climb in/out of truck
- 7Basic math and route schedule reading skills
- 8Customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- 9Work independently and as part of a team
