What You'll Do11

  • 1Design treatment plans using computer and manual computations to achieve optimal beam geometry
  • 2Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures across multiple imaging datasets
  • 3Create reference images and localization markers for portal verification and IGRT
  • 4Supervise simulation and tumor localization using CT MRI and PET imaging devices
  • 5Plan fabrication of compensation filters custom shields wedges and other beam modifying devices
  • 6Coordinate production of molds casts and immobilization devices
  • 7Communicate with radiation therapists regarding treatment parameters and device usage
  • 8Perform dose calculations and document findings in patient records
  • 9Verify mathematical accuracy of all calculations using approved methods
  • 10Maintain knowledge of anatomy physiology clinical oncology radiobiology and radiation safety
  • 11Utilize healthcare informatics resources to manage clinical data

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2HDR BrachyVision certification required
  • 3Board certification by MDCB
  • 45+ years experience with radiation oncology treatment machines
  • 5Proficiency in anatomy physiology clinical oncology radiobiology and radiation physics
  • 6Knowledge of healthcare informatics and data management systems
  • 7Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • 8Ability to work in diverse global team environment
