Distribution Center Area Supervisor
Overview
The DC Area Supervisor leads an hourly team to drive efficiency and safety across the distribution center. This role influences the entire distribution team to meet fast-paced demands while managing 20 to 30 associates. It offers a unique chance to shape operations and grow within The Home Depot family.
What You'll Do11
- 1Manage Process: Ensure operations procedures are followed and recommend improvements to Operations Manager and Assistant General Manager.
- 2Coach and Develop Associates: Guide daily operations and conduct evaluations using data and observations to enhance productivity and safety.
- 3Drive Results: Maintain inventory accuracy and review reports to identify improvements in productivity and quality.
- 4Business Planning: Coordinate with functional areas to align performance with business plans and plan staffing needs.
- 5Other Duties: Perform assignments as directed by Operations Manager or General Manager.
- 6Direct Manager/Reports: Supervise shift activities, make recommendations on hiring and performance appraisals.
- 7Travel: Travel less than 10 percent of the time when required.
- 8Physical Requirements: Engage in intermittent physical exertion such as walking, standing, and lifting materials.
- 9Working Conditions: Operate in a comfortable indoor environment with minimal discomfort.
- 10Minimum Qualifications: Be at least 18 years old, legally permitted to work in the US, flexible shift availability, ability to relocate.
- 11Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with Warehouse Management Systems, 3+ years supervisory experience.
