Own dish station operations and kitchen sanitation at Hearth & Vine, a New American restaurant in Portland's historic Pearl District. Support a team serving regional wines and beers in a high-volume setting. Maintain FIFO practices, wash dishes and equipment, and keep all kitchen areas spotless. This role anchors the heart-of-house, directly enabling smooth service.
What You'll Do6
- 1Wash all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment using commercial dishwashing machines and sink stations.
- 2Maintain clean and sanitary conditions across all kitchen areas, including the dish station and walk-in cooler.
- 3Manage trash and recycling removal, keeping bins emptied and organized throughout service.
- 4Ensure proper FIFO (First-In-First-Out) rotation and organization in the walk-in, dating and labeling items as needed.
- 5Clean dining room areas when required, including wiping tables and sweeping floors.
- 6Restock clean dishes and equipment at stations to maintain smooth workflow for the kitchen team.
Requirements8
- 11+ years as a porter or dishwasher; high-volume restaurant experience a plus.
- 2Proven work ethic with ability to work in an organized and professional manner.
- 3Quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment.
- 4Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback.
- 5Able to lift and/or move 10 pounds frequently, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally.
- 6Able to stand and walk for long periods during shifts.
- 7Command of the English language for safety and communication.
- 8Eligible to work in the United States.
