Director of School Ministry, Catholic High School
Overview
You will own the School Ministry Program at West Catholic Preparatory High School, a century-old urban Catholic school serving 400+ diverse students. You will report to the Principal and collaborate with the Director of Spirituality & Mission to deliver liturgies, retreats, and service programs. You will also teach Theology courses as a member of the department. This role combines pastoral leadership with hands-on program execution, requiring a practicing Catholic who can inspire students and faculty through intentional discipleship.
What You'll Do8
- 1Plan and execute class and school liturgies, schedule weekly masses, and coordinate Penance Services for the school community.
- 2Schedule and supervise student sacristans and liturgical ministers, and coordinate liturgical music and worship resources.
- 3Design and lead dynamic student and faculty retreats that foster encounters with Jesus Christ.
- 4Identify and organize service opportunities for students and faculty, promoting a culture of vocational awareness to priesthood and religious life.
- 5Create the master school ministry calendar and manage the ministry budget, ensuring alignment with the academic year.
- 6Attend administration and staff meetings, and provide pastoral counseling to students and staff in collaboration with the guidance department.
- 7Steer adult and student campus ministry teams, scheduling meetings and supporting their initiatives.
- 8Participate in workshops and meetings sponsored by the Office of Catechetical Formation for School Ministry.
Requirements6
- 1Must be a practicing Catholic, verified by the pastor of your registered parish, and uphold Catholic moral teaching.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Theology or Religious Studies from a Catholic college or university.
- 3Experience in secondary education, campus ministry, youth ministry, or parish life preferred.
- 4Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and social media.
- 5Must obtain PA clearances and Safe Environment Certification before employment.
- 6Official transcripts required prior to start.
