Director of Public Policy TASC
Overview
TASC seeks a Director of Public Policy to lead public policy government relations and advocacy initiatives. The role reports to the President/CEO and ensures policy priorities align with the organization mission. This position drives strategic leadership tracks legislation analyzes regulatory changes conducts cross‑state policy research coordinates internal policy activities supervises staff leads advocacy efforts and supports agency‑wide policy work.
What You'll Do12
- 1Provide strategic leadership for agency‑wide public policy activities including development of policy initiatives in partnership with Executive Staff and consultants
- 2Track and monitor progression of state and federal legislation through the legislative process
- 3Analyze and advise on policies and regulatory changes with potential impact on the agency and clients
- 4Conduct research on emerging policies across states and present findings to leadership
- 5Coordinate policy activities among leadership and staff to incorporate diverse perspectives
- 6Supervise and oversee policy staff and interns
- 7Lead agency advocacy efforts by championing or opposing specific legislation
- 8Create supporting materials such as fact sheets policy papers presentations and research briefs
- 9Supply executive staff with documents and talking points for advocacy engagements
- 10Maintain stakeholder relationships by representing the agency at external meetings and conferences
- 11Develop legislative relationships in other jurisdictions aligning with business development goals
- 12Establish and maintain key relationships with Members of Congress congressional committees and agency staff
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons leading public policy teams
- 3Master’s degree in public policy public health or related field
- 4At least five years of related experience in public policy public health or criminal justice
- 5Knowledge of relevant government officials at local state and federal levels
- 6Ability to perform knowledgeable and meaningful policy analysis
- 7Understanding of policymaking processes current politics and political environments
- 8Credible public presence as a spokesperson for the agency
- 9Effective collaborator who can build working relationships with diverse constituencies
- 10Familiarity with health drug policy and criminal justice laws regulations and best practices
