Director of Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy Operations
Overview
You will own pharmacy operations across multiple hospitals and care settings, driving clinical, financial, and operational performance. This role leads the pharmacy team at Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital and collaborates with executive leadership to standardize medication use, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance technology. You will work with a team of 2,500+ pharmacy professionals and technology experts across the CPS network. What You'll Do8
- 1Provide system-wide strategic leadership for pharmacy services, aligning multiple hospital sites with organizational goals.
- 2Optimize and standardize medication use practices, including formulary management, clinical protocols, and medication safety programs.
- 3Lead and develop pharmacy leadership teams, including hospital pharmacy directors and managers, ensuring consistency and accountability.
- 4Ensure enterprise-wide regulatory and accreditation compliance, overseeing readiness for audits and inspections across all sites.
- 5Oversee system-level financial performance, including contracting, purchasing strategies, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- 6Collaborate with executive leadership, service lines, and external partners to support integrated care delivery.
- 7Drive innovation and scalability of pharmacy services, advancing technology, analytics, and new models of care.
- 8Manage day-to-day operations at Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital, including staff supervision and scheduling.
Requirements8
- 1B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
- 2Current Licensed Pharmacist in Illinois in good standing
- 35+ years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience in a hospital or health system
- 4Proven ability to manage pharmacy operations, including budgeting and P&L responsibility
- 5Strong knowledge of state and federal laws governing pharmacy practice
- 6Experience with pharmacy information systems and medication management software
- 7Demonstrated skill in interdisciplinary collaboration and team leadership
- 8Excellent verbal and written communication skills
