Director of People Management at The Aerospace Corporation
Overview
Lead strategic people management initiatives supporting mission critical work in space systems and national security. Head the People Management Center of Expertise designing policies and processes for performance management and employee relations. Report to Principal Director of Workforce Programs. Full time on site in Chantilly VA or El Segundo CA.
What You'll Do10
- 1Develop guidance regarding employment policies and practices resolve complex issues such as misconduct accommodation requests and performance deficiencies
- 2Lead mentor and train two professional staff members oversee conduct investigations and draft comprehensive reports
- 3Provide SME direction and consulting on performance evaluation processes stay current with external performance management trends
- 4Perform as subject matter expert in performance reviews incorporate state and federal employment laws advise on resolutions
- 5Partner with management strategic partners and employees to improve relationships build morale and increase productivity
- 6Initiate and develop People Operations special projects manage departmental annual budget analyze employee relations metrics
- 7Prepare and manage employee relations metrics to provide data driven insights
- 8Analyze conflict resolution strategies and apply them effectively
- 9Coordinate with management strategic people partners and employees to enhance operational effectiveness
- 10Travel domestically approximately four to six times per year
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Behavioral Sciences or related discipline
- 2Ten or more years of HR experience including five or more years direct employee relations experience
- 3Coaching and consulting background with managers and employees
- 4Knowledge of federal state and local employment laws and ability to apply them
- 5Experience with conflict resolution strategies
- 6Strong project and time management abilities
- 7Proficiency with employee relations case management software
- 8Willingness to travel domestically four to six times annually
Salary Insight
$145 - $217k per year
