MatchBuilt seeks a Director of Land Acquisition to lead land strategy and acquisition activities supporting the company's growth. What You'll Do13
- 1Identify evaluate and pursue land and lot acquisition opportunities that align with growth strategy and community development goals
- 2Build and maintain relationships with landowners brokers developers engineers consultants and municipal officials to create a consistent pipeline
- 3Conduct market research competitive analysis and submarket evaluations to assess land strength and strategic fit
- 4Lead site visits with leadership to evaluate location access visibility constraints and development potential
- 5Prepare land acquisition requests investment summaries financial models feasibility reports and executive recommendations
- 6Evaluate project assumptions including lot yield development costs absorption pricing margins timing and entitlement risk
- 7Partner with land development construction purchasing sales finance and operations teams to ensure realistic acquisition assumptions
- 8Coordinate due diligence efforts with engineers land planners environmental consultants attorneys and title companies
- 9Support entitlement zoning permitting annexation and approval processes for acquisition opportunities
- 10Monitor land pipeline activity acquisition status development timing land spend and forecast assumptions for planning and budgeting
- 11Assist with contract negotiation letters of intent purchase agreements amendments and easements
- 12Represent the company professionally with sellers brokers consultants and community stakeholders
- 13Drive land acquisition strategies that enhance long term market position and community growth
Requirements5
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Bachelor’s degree in business finance real estate construction management engineering land planning accounting
- 3Strong understanding of residential land acquisition entitlement zoning permitting due diligence land planning site feasibility and development economics
- 4Proven ability to source evaluate sites analyze financial returns negotiate deal terms and support acquisition approvals
- 5Excellent communication and presentation skills for summarizing complex land opportunities
