Director of Food & Beverage, Hospitality & Events
Overview
The Director leads the entire F&B operation for a full-service hotel and event center in Columbus area with accountability for guest experience and business performance. Owns leadership for Event Operations, banquets, outlets, the Pub, and related services while partnering with Culinary, Sales, Planning, Rooms, Engineering, Finance, HR, and CHM. This role combines executive oversight with hands-on visibility during peak periods and major events to ensure standards are consistently executed. The position is part of the Executive Team and focuses on driving profitability, service excellence, and cross-department collaboration.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead Event Operations, banquets, outlets, the Pub, and beverage services to achieve guest satisfaction and revenue targets.
- 2Translate plans and standards into repeatable operating processes with documented procedures and ongoing follow-up.
- 3Maintain service, cleanliness, setup, presentation, and opening closing standards across F&B spaces.
- 4Be visibly present during peak times, major events, and high volume weekends to uphold standards.
- 5Conduct regular inspections, correct deficiencies, and ensure spaces are guest-ready at all times.
- 6Coordinate with Sales, Planning, Culinary, and Engineering to ensure seamless event execution.
- 7Establish manager coverage, MOD escalation, and decision rights for rapid response.
- 8Own F&B financial performance including revenue, profitability, labor, and costs.
- 9Partner with Executive Chef on menu development, pricing, and cost analysis.
- 10Identify new F&B revenue opportunities and collaborate with Sales and Marketing to capture them.
Requirements10
- 1Minimum 5+ years progressive F&B leadership in a hotel, resort, or conference center
- 2Proven success leading banquets, outlets, and bar operations
- 3Experience with high-volume meetings, conventions, or conference center operations preferred
- 4Proven ability to lead through managers, delegate, and drive consistent execution
- 5Strong financial acumen managing budgets, forecasts, cost, and profitability
- 6Demonstrated ability to build and maintain service standards and operating procedures
- 7Must hold or obtain ServSafe, TIPS, or equivalent certifications
- 8Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels and departments
- 9Able to manage stressful situations calmly and exercise sound judgment
- 10Travel local and regional with potential overnight trips
