Director of Finance, Financial Leadership for Multi-State Operations
Overview
The Director of Finance will own all accounting and finance operations across multiple locations and the Dealership Support Center. They will report to the COO and lead a high-performing team to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and data-driven decision making. This role drives budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, and financial controls across the organization. What You'll Do10
- 1Lead month-end and year-end close, GL reconciliations, AP/AR, cash flow, and commissions processing to deliver timely, accurate reporting.
- 2Establish processes, controls, and accountability for the finance and accounting team and mentor career growth and succession plans.
- 3Serve as escalation point for complex or high-risk finance matters and partner with leadership to drive decisions.
- 4Contribute to the financial data strategy ensuring a single source of truth and meaningful analysis for forecasting and modeling.
- 5Champion automation and process improvements to reduce manual work and improve efficiency and accuracy.
- 6Own annual budgeting for all franchises and the Dealership Support Center and direct ongoing forecasting and variance analysis.
- 7Provide timely insights on trends and leading indicators to support operational and executive decisions.
- 8Ensure regulatory compliance, manage external audit processes, and oversee multi-state sales and use tax compliance.
- 9Support ERP processes for financial configuration and data integrity in partnership with technology and leadership.
- 10Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements9
- 1Minimum 5 years' experience in finance and accounting
- 2Minimum 5 years' progressive management of finance and/or accounting teams
- 3Proven experience running finance and accounting operations including close, GL, AP/AR, and cash management
- 4Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling skills
- 5Experience with external audit and multi-state sales and use tax
- 6Working knowledge of ERP systems on financials and general ledgers
- 7Strong leadership presence with ability to communicate with an executive team
- 8Excellent communication skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- 9Problem-solving, ethical conduct, and time management skills
Salary Insight
$168 - $210k per year
