Director of FP&A, Construction & Program Management
Overview
Lead financial planning and analysis for a high-growth auto auction group, driving budgets, forecasts, and M&A valuations. Report directly to the Treasurer and CFO, partnering with operations executives on multi-year modeling and investor materials. Manage a team of 1-2 analysts, building scalable reporting processes. This role stands out for its bias for action, transparency, and direct impact on executive decisions.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build the annual operating plan and capital budget, aligning with executive strategy
- 2Scale FP&A processes for operations, automating job cost and labor tracking with Microsoft Dynamics F&O D365
- 3Drive M&A valuation models, recommending deal structures and purchase prices
- 4Own the five-year P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts, challenging assumptions with operations
- 5Develop investor relations presentations and quarterly Board of Directors reporting packages
- 6Prepare quarterly forecasts in sync with operations, using Excel for variance analysis
- 7Mentor and develop 1-2 financial analysts, training operations on revenue recognition and job cost analysis
- 8Collaborate with accounting groups to ensure accurate job cost and profit recognition reporting
Requirements8
- 15+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in program or construction management
- 2Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA with finance emphasis strongly preferred
- 3CPA or CFA charter in progress
- 4Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling
- 5Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics F&O D365
- 6Strong ERP system knowledge for data manipulation and reporting
- 7Excellent communication and presentation skills
- 8Proven ability to mentor and train others
