PLNU seeks a Director of Clinical Education to lead the development of a CAPTE‑ready, student‑centered clinical education model for its emerging Doctor of Physical Therapy program. What You'll Do9

  • 1Lead the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of integrated and full‑time clinical education experiences aligned with program outcomes and CAPTE expectations.
  • 2Recruit, develop, evaluate, and maintain a diverse network of clinical education sites across varied practice settings and patient populations.
  • 3Collaborate with faculty to create policies, readiness standards, and assessment systems that support competency‑based learning.
  • 4Guide students through clinical readiness, placement, and progression, providing mentorship, coaching, and remediation as needed.
  • 5Support Clinical Instructors and site coordinators in delivering high‑quality supervision and assessment of student performance.
  • 6Collect, analyze, and apply clinical education data to drive accreditation readiness, program improvement, and continuous quality enhancement.
  • 7Develop and sustain clinical partnerships that foster mutual accountability, educational quality, and community impact.
  • 8Contribute to teaching, scholarship, and service by designing courses, publishing research, and engaging in professional organizations.
  • 9Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, licensure requirements, and institutional policies.

Requirements9

  • 1Doctor of Physical Therapy degree or equivalent doctoral preparation; active physical therapist licensure in California and eligibility to practice in the state.
  • 2Minimum three years of full‑time post‑licensure clinical practice as a physical therapist.
  • 3Minimum two years of experience as a Clinical Instructor, Site Coordinator of Clinical Education, or similar educational leadership role.
  • 4Proven understanding of clinical education best practices, including site development, student placement, and assessment.
  • 5Familiarity with CAPTE standards and accreditation processes for clinical education programs.
  • 6Demonstrated ability to build and manage clinical partnerships that enhance student learning and professional growth.
  • 7Commitment to PLNU’s mission of whole‑person care, ethical practice, and community service.
  • 8Evidence of strong communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills.
  • 9Personal evidence of Christian faith and alignment with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.
