Director of Campus Operations, University Facilities
Overview
You will direct all campus operations at Northeastern University's Oakland site, owning a $180M budget and a 100+ person team across facilities, security, and auxiliary services. 5+ years in senior operations leadership or 3-5 seasons of managing large-scale institutional facilities is required. You report to the Dean, partner with Facilities, Campus Planning, and Residential Life, and drive strategic initiatives that shape the student and faculty experience. What You'll Do8
- 1Align campus operations with university priorities, translating the Dean's vision into actionable plans for facilities, services, and infrastructure.

- 3Implement process improvements that cut costs by 15% within the first year and boost service delivery scores.
- 4Drive compliance with safety regulations, sustainability targets, and university standards across all operational areas.
- 5Lead emergency preparedness and business continuity planning, including annual drills and real incident management.
- 6Build strong partnerships with Facilities, Campus Planning, Sustainability, and Residential Life to foster shared accountability.
- 7Communicate operational metrics and strategic updates to senior leadership, using Tableau dashboards for real-time reporting.
- 8Mentor and develop managers across facilities and operations, promoting a culture of service and continuous improvement.
Requirements7
- 18-10 years leading complex operations in higher education or large-scale facilities management.
- 2Proven track record managing budgets of $10M+ and multi-disciplinary teams.
- 3Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building codes, and sustainability practices.
- 4Experience with change management in a matrixed organization.
- 5Ability to read and interpret architectural and mechanical drawings.
- 6Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a diplomatic approach.
