Director of Accounting, TV Networks Media
Overview
You will lead accounting for the Central Services Agreement between Versant and NBCUniversal, and partner with Content Distribution. You will report to the Controller, TV Networks, and oversee monthly close, balance sheet integrity, and cross-brand transactions. You will build the accounting foundation of a newly independent public company, driving process improvements and ERP transformation. This role requires a CPA and 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in complex organizations.
What You'll Do9
- 1Manage accounting for the CSA between Versant and NBCUniversal, including shared services for ad sales and content distribution.
- 2Lead accounting for Content Distribution: journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, subscriber audits, and financial reporting.
- 3Drive month-end close activities, balance sheet integrity, and reconciliations for the Central Accounting team.
- 4Oversee accounting for cross-brand transactions and strategic initiatives.
- 5Partner with Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting, and external auditors to resolve complex accounting matters.
- 6Implement accounting process improvements, standardization, and ERP systems to build scalable controls.
- 7Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and company policies.
- 8Identify accounting issues and implement sustainable solutions through automation and governance.
- 9Lead centralization efforts across the TV Networks Controllership organization.
Requirements13
- 1Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- 210+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a complex organization.
- 3Big Four or public company experience preferred.
- 4Strong technical accounting skills: financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, balance sheet governance, SOX.
- 5Experience in media, entertainment, or content distribution preferred.
- 6Ability to interpret contracts and translate terms into accounting treatment.
- 7Strong project management skills, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- 8Excellent communication and partnership skills with Accounting, Finance, and external auditors.
- 9Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and process discipline.
- 10Proactive problem-solver who drives practical resolutions.
- 11Comfortable with fast-paced close environments and evolving business needs.
- 12Collaborative team player who leads through influence.
