Overview

The Director leads the Broward Center for Nonprofit Excellence as a comprehensive resource for Broward County nonprofits. This role creates and implements innovative programs to strengthen the nonprofit sector while generating sustainable revenue. The Director represents the Foundation as a thought leader in capacity building and philanthropy positioning the Center as the leading authority.

What You'll Do13

  • 1Set overall vision and strategy for program development and implementation in consultation with the Vice President of Community Impact and an advisory committee
  • 2Guide the Center's evolution to broaden its philanthropic footprint through engagement with nonprofits grantees agency partners donors funders volunteers and other stakeholders
  • 3Recruit hire and supervise program consultants and create facilitate educational programs
  • 4Create community among nonprofits to foster collaboration and address shared challenges
  • 5Develop strategic partnerships to expand the Center's reach across Broward County
  • 6Generate revenue through programs and services to ensure sustainability
  • 7Provide content facilitation and organizational support to CI Directors for grantee groups like Power Builders
  • 8Evaluate program effectiveness using formal and informal assessments to drive continuous improvement
  • 9Produce updates progress reports and communications for internal and external audiences including newsletters annual reports and website content
  • 10Oversee grants management and data for the assigned portfolio
  • 11Develop and implement annual work plans manage budgets and handle additional requests
  • 12Advance organizational goals and complete special assignments as directed
  • 13Manage staff including the Coordinator of Community Impact and other personnel

Requirements13

  • 1Bachelor’s degree with Masters preferred 7+ years of senior-level nonprofit leadership experience focusing on organizational development talent management and training
  • 2Ability to create and implement strategies that improve organizational effectiveness and community impact
  • 3Proven experience developing new program models resulting in measurable ROI or organizational growth
  • 4Track record of successful marketing or sales driving revenue expansion and stakeholder acquisition
  • 5Understanding of adult learning principles curriculum development and instructional design
  • 6Knowledge of fundraising board development and nonprofit leadership fundamentals
  • 7Experience working in complex environments with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders
  • 8Strong relationship-building skills with nonprofit leaders funders and community members
  • 9Proactive problem-solving mindset anticipating challenges and implementing solutions
  • 10Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities for emails reports and facilitation
  • 11Accountability integrity and sound judgment in all interactions
  • 12Adaptability resilience and strong prioritization skills in dynamic settings
