Palo Alto Humane seeks a Development Director to lead fundraising strategy and build its development function. What You'll Do11
- 1Design and lead comprehensive fundraising strategy including major gifts and donor stewardship
- 2Set annual and multi-year fundraising goals and budgets in partnership with the CEO
- 3Identify and cultivate major donors corporate partners and legacy sponsors
- 4Oversee donor stewardship and recognition through proper acknowledgments and tax receipts
- 5Maintain accurate donor database and develop engagement plans for stock giving and donor advised funds
- 6Build and grow the Charity Checkout program with local businesses
- 7Partner with Director of Community Engagement to create content for social media email and press releases
- 8Help grow digital presence of website and social channels
- 9Provide regular fundraising updates to Board and leadership team
- 10Set KPIs using real-time data to refine fundraising and marketing strategies
- 11Coach staff board members and volunteers on fundraising best practices
Requirements8
- 1Minimum of five years fundraising experience in nonprofit sector with proven success
- 2College degree or extensive experience in relationship management roles
- 3Experience cultivating major gifts or managing donor portfolios
- 4Ability to increase revenue and ensure long-term strategic growth
- 5Self-starter with minimal supervision capabilities
- 6Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- 7Excellent communication skills across written verbal and interpersonal domains
- 8Proficiency in DonorPerfect Blackbaud or Salesforce and digital marketing tools
