Overview

You own the government property and shipping strategy for a defense contractor, overseeing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio and a team of property administrators and shipping staff. You report to the VP of Supply Chain, partner with engineering, contracting, and program offices, and drive compliance with FAR and DFARS. This role leads audits, technology adoption, and process improvements, shaping federal property policy. You build high-performing teams and influence senior stakeholders.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Design the long-term government property and shipping strategy, aligning with budgets and federal regulations.
  • 2Drive adoption of RFID, asset tracking platforms, and AI analytics to enhance visibility and decision-making.
  • 3Serve as primary liaison for internal and external audits, leading remediation plans.
  • 4Build relationships with government and industry partners to smooth property movement and disposition.
  • 5Lead development of the GPM charter, roadmaps, and performance metrics.
  • 6Collaborate with program offices to align property support with contractual requirements.
  • 7Champion compliance and security culture across the organization.
  • 8Produce annual government property reports for senior leadership and oversight bodies.
  • 9Direct end-to-end shipping and receiving for all property, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • 10Oversee third-party carrier and freight forwarder selection, qualification, and performance.

Requirements10

  • 115+ years in government property management, with 5+ years in senior leadership.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or engineering; master's preferred.
  • 3CPPA certification or equivalent from NPMA required.
  • 4Deep knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DODI, and MIL standards.
  • 5Experience with PIEE and DPAS systems.
  • 6Proficiency with ERP and asset management systems.
  • 7Demonstrated experience managing multi-billion-dollar property portfolios.
  • 8Track record leading government audits and corrective actions.
  • 9Strong negotiation skills for logistics contracts and vendor management.
  • 10Active Secret security clearance.
