Dietetic Technician, Long Term Care & Nutrition Services
Overview
Own and support nutrition services within a skilled nursing facility serving residents on weekdays with some weekend coverage. You will collaborate with clinical dietitians, food service, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver compassionate nutrition care. This role emphasizes hands-on menu management, therapeutic adjustments, and accurate diet order processing in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and verify diet orders and ensure accuracy for all residents
- 2Deliver menus to new admissions and communicate therapeutic needs
- 3Retrieve and organize resident communication sheets for care planning
- 4Modify resident menus based on therapeutic requirements to support health outcomes
- 5Assist residents with menu selection and provide guidance
- 6Enter menus into Geri Menu nutrition software and maintain data integrity
- 7Post weekly menus on units and ensure accessibility for care teams
- 8Print and organize daily meal tickets for service staff and residents
- 9Collaborate with dietary and nursing teams to align meals with care plans
- 10Support quality care initiatives through accurate documentation and teamwork
Requirements7
- 1Associate's Degree in Food and Nutrition
- 2Prior experience in long term care environment strongly preferred
- 3Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written
- 4Ability to work a 12:00pm-8:00pm schedule with alternating weekends
- 5Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset
- 6Proficiency with basic food service operations and nutrition software
- 7Detail-oriented with accurate order verification and documentation
