What You'll Do9
- 1Perform ongoing systematic patient data collection pre, during, and post hemodialysis, documenting in the medical record and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- 2Administer medications per protocols, documenting medical justification and effectiveness for each dose.
- 3Initiate emergency response measures for acute patient events, coordinating with the care team.
- 4Direct daily delivery of safe and effective hemodialysis therapy, supervising Patient Care Technicians and LPNs.
- 5Assess patient learning needs and deliver initial and ongoing education to patients and families on treatment options and self-care.
- 6Ensure correct lab collection, processing, and shipping, rescheduling missed collections to maintain continuity.
- 7Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to document and update nursing assessments and individualized care plans.
- 8Serve as a resource for new staff, participating in orientation and training to maintain clinical standards.
- 9Educate patients on transplant and modality options, supporting informed decision-making.
Requirements9
- 11 year of nephrology nursing experience in the last two years as an RN, with chronic hemodialysis experience required.
- 2Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current Minnesota state licensure.
- 3Current CPR BLS Certification or successful completion upon hire.
- 43 months experience in chronic or acute hemodialysis as an RN.
- 5Minimum of 9 months experience as an RN to qualify for team leader duties.
- 6Ability to float to area sites within 50 miles of the main site.
- 7Physical capability: frequent standing, bending, lifting up to 30 lbs to 5 feet, and moving equipment up to 200 lbs with assistance.
- 8Pass the Ishihara Color Blindness test as a condition of employment, with reasonable accommodation considered.
- 9Commitment to 40+ hours per week, including overtime, with a minimum guarantee of 36 hours.
