RN Home Dialysis Nurse - Fresenius Dallas
Overview
You will own patient education and case management for home dialysis patients in Dallas, TX, using Fresenius systems and protocols. You will train patients and home partners on peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis, conduct clinic sessions, and perform initial home visits. Your work ensures safe, effective treatment and improves patient outcomes for those with ESKD. This entry-level CAP 1 role includes paid one-on-one training, state-of-the-art equipment, and a clear path to advance through the Clinical Advancement Program.
What You'll Do9
- 1Train patients and home partners on peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis using Fresenius equipment and supplies, following a structured home dialysis training program.
- 2Assess patient readiness and home environment for dialysis, identifying barriers and collaborating with partners to ensure safe home therapy.
- 3Document systematic patient data and adjust treatment plans as needed, communicating issues to the physician or supervisor.
- 4Administer medications as prescribed, documenting medical justification and effectiveness.
- 5Initiate emergency response measures and provide direct patient care, including heavy lifting and moving equipment.
- 6Serve as a resource for the healthcare team, participating in staff training and orientation of new hires.
- 7Coordinate laboratory collections and reschedule missed or insufficient tests to ensure accurate monitoring.
- 8Educate patients on transplant options and modality choices, ensuring awareness and informed decisions.
- 9Assign oversight of LPNs, RNs, and Patient Care Technicians as a team leader after meeting experience requirements.
Requirements9
- 11+ year of experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred).
- 2Less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience (entry level), or completion of 12 months as an RN.
- 33 months of experience in home peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis (for supervision).
- 4Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- 5Current state licensure as an RN.
- 6Current CPR BLS Certification.
- 7Home dialysis therapy experience (preferred).
- 8Ability to lift up to 200 lbs with assistance and 30 lbs up to 5 feet.
- 9Willingness to participate in on-call rotation, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
