Detailer II Spooler, HVAC & Piping BIM & 3D Modeling
Overview
BIM driven Detailer II Spooler will own shop drawing creation and MEP coordination for major mechanical systems on hyperscale data center projects. You will model equipment rooms, detail drawings, and 3D representations to minimize clashes and rework. You will mentor less experienced detailers and collaborate with design and build teams to prevent design flaws from becoming field issues. This role emphasizes hands on detailing, coordination, and accurate documentation in a growing, safety focused environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build shop drawings for major mechanical systems on large construction projects
- 2Design equipment room layouts and detail drawings to support field installation
- 3Maintain a document management protocol to ensure traceability and clarity
- 4Drive reduced time and costs by identifying and mitigating clash detection risks
- 5Provide MEP coordination and 3D modeling using BIM tools
- 6Attend construction meetings and contribute to issue resolution
- 7Collaborate with design and build teams to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws
- 8Mentor less experienced Detailers to elevate team capability
Requirements10
- 1High School or G.E.D. required
- 2Completed a trade apprentice program or equivalent
- 3Minimum 2 years' relevant trade and/or detailing experience
- 4Journeyman
- 5Good verbal and written communication skills
- 6Ability to write, edit and proofread content
- 7Good understanding of craft
- 8Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents
- 9Current knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods
- 10Attention to detail
