Detailer I, Sheetmetal & BIM Coordination
Overview
Detailer I supports construction projects by producing basic sheet metal shop drawings and BIM models at a mid-scale environment. They will coordinate with design and build teams and gain hands-on experience with Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD. This role emphasizes accuracy, documentation control, and clash detection efforts. The position serves as an entry point into the detailing career path and offers growth into senior roles.
What You'll Do6
- 1Build basic shop drawings and 3D models using BIM tools to support project delivery
- 2Coordinate MEP information and participate in clash detection to reduce field conflicts
- 3Maintain organized project documentation and ensure information is retrievable
- 4Assist with log, tracking, expediting, and distribution of shop drawings and project docs
- 5Collaborate with design and build teams in meetings to resolve design issues
- 6Participate in project meetings and contribute to project efficiency and accuracy
Requirements7
- 1High School or GED and 2 years of detailing experience or current trade apprenticeship enrollment
- 2Basic verbal and written communication skills
- 3Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents
- 4Current knowledge of HVAC Plumbing Piping Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods
- 5Attention to detail and basic knowledge of Navisworks Revit AutoCAD
- 6Basic understanding of applicable AEC BIM CAD software
- 7Ability to write edit and proofread content
