BIM Technician, Revit & AutoCAD for Structural Engineering Firm
Overview
Own BIM process execution at a mid-size structural engineering firm with a focus on high-end residential projects. Lead modeling in Revit Structure and coordinate with architecture and engineering teams to deliver accurate, standards-based BIM models. Work onsite in DC area supporting design development, construction docs, and client deliverables. This role emphasizes attention to detail, organization, and communication to meet project milestones.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build BIM models in Revit Structure and coordinate with project teams to produce constructible documentation
- 2Design standards for BIM execution and enforce modeling consistency across multiple projects
- 3Lead model sharing workflows and create Family objects to meet project requirements
- 4Ship high-end residential BIM deliverables within schedule while maintaining quality and accuracy
- 5Own coordination with consultants and fabricators using Navisworks and clash detection to resolve conflicts
- 6Scale BIM data for integration with CAD workflows and ensure interoperability across platforms
- 7Debug modeling issues and implement process improvements to reduce rework
- 8Drive documentation of BIM standards and training for junior staff
- 9Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to support project delivery
Requirements9
- 1Proficient with Revit Structure and Revit Architecture with strong AutoCAD experience
- 2Thorough knowledge of the Revit platform including Model Sharing and Objects Families creation
- 3Basic knowledge of BIM Interoperable software such as Navisworks and 3D Studio
- 4Basic knowledge of 3D Laser-scanning and Point Clouds
- 5Excellent drafting skills and drawing aesthetics
- 6Superior planning, organization and time management skills
- 7Self-motivated, detail oriented, and well organized
- 8Excellent written and oral communication skills
- 9Experience modeling in high-end residential projects
Salary Insight
$60 - $72k per year
