Overview
Mercor is seeking senior product designers and AI-assisted developers to help train AI systems by creating evaluation tasks that mirror real-world product design and rapid prototyping work. You'll craft scenarios, reference outputs, and scoring rubrics across two tracks: Vibecoding (natural-language-driven coding) and Design (UX/UI, design systems). This is a fully remote, hourly contract role where your expertise directly shapes how AI handles complex product-building challenges.
What You'll Do5
- 1Design realistic scenarios that span everything from quick prototyping cycles to full design system builds.
- 2Create tasks for both AI-assisted development workflows (using tools like Cursor, Claude Code, v0, and Replit) and design tools (Figma, Framer).
- 3Develop reference prototypes, code examples, design specs, and usability evaluation reports that set the standard for high-quality output.
- 4Write detailed rubrics that distinguish genuine senior-level product thinking from shallow, template-driven responses.
- 5Cover areas like user research, usability testing, and human-AI collaboration in your task design.
Requirements4
- 1At least 5 years working as a product designer, design lead, or AI-native engineer at a major product company (like Figma, Airbnb, Notion, Linear) or a strong independent studio.
- 2Hands-on experience shipping design systems or AI-assisted development workflows to production.
- 3Deep comfort with either vibecoding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, v0, Replit) or design tools (Figma, Framer), plus a solid grasp of user-centered design and rapid prototyping.
- 4A portfolio of shipped work matters more than formal degrees; prior experience writing rubrics, training materials, or design critiques is a plus.
