Design Engineer, Power Burners & CAD
Overview
You will design new products and improve existing lines at a leading power burner manufacturer in Chicago. You own product development from concept to manufacturing launch, working with sales, engineering, and operations. You test prototypes, recommend new technologies, and cut costs. You document patent applications and coordinate launches. This role stands out for its hands-on lab and assembly work.
What You'll Do8
- 1Develop new product designs for current and new burner applications
- 2Test new or revised products fully, from lab to assembly line
- 3Recommend new product technologies and applications to the team
- 4Analyze customer applications and integrate product features into system designs
- 5Coordinate R&D activities and initiate cost reduction ideas
- 6Generate engineering and lab test reports, plus patent documentation
- 7Launch new products by setting goals, training staff, and evaluating results
- 8Confer with sales, production, and design on tooling for efficient methods
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 25+ years of related engineering experience
- 3Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor
- 4Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- 5Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and combustion systems
- 6Familiarity with UL 197 and NSF standards
- 7Strong project management skills for multiple products
- 8Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees
Salary Insight
$80 - $110k per year
