What You'll Do8
- 1Perform prophylaxes, scaling, and root planing with ultrasonic and hand instruments, ensuring patient comfort and clinical outcomes.
- 2Capture and interpret digital radiographs to identify periodontal disease and other oral conditions, communicating findings to patients.
- 3Apply fluoride varnish and sealants, and instruct patients on oral hygiene techniques, using educational tools.
- 4Document treatment plans and patient histories in Dentrix or similar practice management software, maintaining accurate records.
- 5Collaborate with Dr. Dargan and Dr. Nguyen to develop individualized care plans, integrating medical history and current oral status.
- 6Manage instrument sterilization and operatory setup, following OSHA and CDC guidelines to ensure safety.
- 7Promote preventive care by counseling patients on nutrition and tobacco cessation, aligning with practice protocols.
- 8Support front desk with scheduling and patient flow, ensuring efficient and productive daily operations.
Requirements8
- 12+ years clinical experience as a dental hygienist, with strong proficiency in scaling and root planing.
- 2Current CPR certification and valid Pennsylvania dental hygiene license.
- 3Proficiency with digital radiography and Dentrix or similar EHR systems.
- 4Knowledge of OSHA and CDC infection control standards.
- 5Excellent patient communication and education skills, with a focus on preventive care.
- 6Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings until 7:00 PM and early mornings at 7:45 AM.
- 7Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a track record of continuing education.
- 8Local to Pittsburgh or willing to relocate, with reliable transportation and parking nearby.
