Dental Assistant, General Dentistry & Radiography
Overview
You will own chairside support and radiography for a busy general dentistry practice in Kansas City. Working within a tight-knit team of 1-3 assistants and reporting to the Lead Dental Assistant, you will prepare patients, assist during treatments, and manage sterilization protocols. Your work directly ensures smooth clinical operations and exceptional patient care. 3+ years of dental assisting experience is required, and you'll thrive in this role if you excel at patient interaction and precision. This is a stable, onsite position with no travel, ideal for an assistant who values teamwork and clinical excellence.
What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare patients for dental procedures, ensuring comfort and clarity about each step of the visit.
- 2Provide chairside assistance to dentists during treatments, passing instruments and anticipating needs.
- 3Conduct dental radiography following safety protocols, capturing high-quality images for diagnosis.
- 4Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment, following strict infection control standards.
- 5Maintain accurate patient records, updating charts and documenting treatment details.
- 6Educate patients on dental care and procedures, promoting oral hygiene and post-treatment follow-up.
- 7Perform routine equipment maintenance, checking for functionality and reporting needs.
- 8Monitor compliance with infection control and safety standards, ensuring a sterile environment.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of experience in dental assisting.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3Proficiency in dental radiography.
- 4Knowledge of infection control practices.
- 5Strong patient care and chairside assistance skills.
- 6Experience using dental software.
- 7Excellent communication and attention to detail.
