Delivery Driver Helper, Warehouse & Loading
Overview
You'll support delivery drivers in transporting products to customer sites, ensuring accurate, safe, and efficient order fulfillment in the Portland area. Work with a team in a warehouse production environment, handling doors, windows, trim, and mouldings. You'll be a customer-facing representative, safeguarding quality and service. This contract-to-hire role offers weekly pay and benefits while gaining experience in manufacturing and logistics.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assist drivers with safe and efficient delivery of products to construction sites, including houses, buildings, and jobsite locations.
- 2Load trucks at the warehouse and unload at customer sites, handling doors, windows, trim, and mouldings up to 100 pounds.
- 3Verify each order matches the correct address and location to ensure accurate fulfillment.
- 4Use proper techniques for loading and unloading to protect yourself, coworkers, and products from damage.
- 5Operate ramps, load-locks, straps, and hand trucks correctly for safe transport and reduced maintenance.
- 6Provide courteous, professional customer service as the primary point of contact during deliveries.
- 7Spot hazards and give clear directions to the driver to promote safe navigation.
- 8Organize and store equipment and supplies, keeping the truck neat and ready.
- 9Perform truck checklists to confirm safety equipment is present and functional.
- 10Maintain cleanliness in the cab and cargo area, removing debris and waste regularly.
Requirements10
- 1Heavy lifting ability, including lifting 100 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
- 2Experience with loading and unloading trucks in a warehouse or production environment.
- 3Basic familiarity with driving and working around box trucks.
- 4Ability to use material handling equipment like ramps, load-locks, straps, and hand trucks.
- 5Strong customer service skills for professional interaction at job sites.
- 6Comfort working in a production environment with doors, windows, trim, and mouldings.
- 7Prior experience in warehouse or manufacturing facilities, especially with building materials.
- 8Exposure to forklift operations or material handling equipment is a plus.
- 9Physical stamina for repetitive lifting, carrying, and movement of heavy materials.
- 10Attention to detail for accurate delivery locations and product handling.
