Data Analyst, SQL & Financial Services Contract
Overview
SQL is the core of this contract role. You will pull tables and associated data elements from relational databases to support a leading financial services customer. You will join a team of analysts and report to a project lead. This role stands out because you coordinate updates across stakeholders and own the data delivery cycle end-to-end.
What You'll Do7
- 1Write SQL queries to extract data from relational databases, applying filters and joins to meet reporting needs.
- 2Pull tables and identify the necessary data elements and columns for each analysis.
- 3Track project milestones and flag risks to the lead, keeping the timeline on schedule.
- 4Draft weekly status updates for stakeholders, summarizing progress and blocking issues.
- 5Validate query results against source systems to ensure accuracy before delivery.
- 6Document SQL logic and data definitions so other analysts can reuse your work.
- 7Coordinate with data owners to clarify table schemas and resolve data gaps.
Requirements7
- 12+ years writing complex SQL queries against large datasets.
- 22+ years in a data analyst role, supporting financial services or similar regulated industries.
- 31+ years managing project tasks and reporting status to stakeholders.
- 4Proficiency in Excel for summarizing findings and building pivot tables.
- 5Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- 6Ability to work on-site 3 days per week in Vienna, VA, Winchester, VA, or Pensacola, FL.
- 7U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
