Technical Business Analyst - Investments Data Platform
Overview
You will own the requirements lifecycle for our Investments Data Platform, translating complex investment data needs into scalable tech solutions. You will partner with the Product Manager and business stakeholders to capture, analyze, and document requirements that drive platform development. Your work will directly shape data architecture and reporting for 3,000+ institutional clients. This role stands out for its blend of deep financial domain exposure and hands-on SQL analysis.
What You'll Do8
- 1Drive requirements gathering with business stakeholders for Investments Data Platform initiatives, producing user stories and functional specifications within the first 90 days.
- 2Own the analysis of investment data flows, mapping source-to-target transformations for SQL-based reporting and analytics.
- 3Lead data quality validation across ETL pipelines, identifying discrepancies and coordinating fixes with engineering.
- 4Design and maintain data dictionaries and process flow diagrams for cross-functional teams.
- 5Partner with Product Owner to prioritize backlog items, aligning technical requirements with business priorities.
- 6Build and execute UAT test plans for new data features, ensuring business acceptance and sign-off.
- 7Create and maintain Power BI dashboards that track platform adoption and data health metrics.
- 8Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to ensure continuous delivery.
Requirements7
- 15+ years as a technical business analyst in financial services, specializing in investment data platforms.
- 2Expert-level SQL skills, including complex joins, subqueries, and window functions for data analysis.
- 3Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or Talend and data warehousing concepts.
- 4Strong knowledge of investment data domains: securities reference data, pricing, and performance returns.
- 5Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
- 6Experience with Agile methodologies, writing user stories, and managing backlogs in Jira.
- 7Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
