Customer Service Representative, Home Healthcare & Insurance Verification
Overview
You own patient intake and insurance verification for Rotech Healthcare Inc., a national leader in home medical equipment serving patients across 45 states. You coordinate with referral sources, verify Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers, and ensure seamless setup of respiratory products and durable medical equipment. As the first point of contact, you manage documentation like CMNs and SOPs while maintaining compliance with JCAHO standards. This role puts you at the center of patient care, directly impacting their ability to manage health at home.
What You'll Do8
- 1Manage patient intake and verify insurance coverage with Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers.
- 2Coordinate documentation and service setup for respiratory products and medical equipment, including CMNs and SOPs.
- 3Communicate with patients, caregivers, referral sources, and internal teams to resolve inquiries and ensure timely service.
- 4Maintain organized records and referral logs in compliance with JCAHO and company standards.
- 5Prepare and process invoices, delivery paperwork, and batch reports for office operations.
- 6Collaborate with outside agencies to resolve patient issues and ensure continuity of care.
- 7Provide technical assistance and support for walk-in and retail equipment requests.
- 8May cover on-call shifts, drive a company vehicle, and make home deliveries.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or GED required.
- 21+ year of related work experience preferred, ideally in home healthcare, medical billing, or patient intake.
- 3Familiarity with insurance verification and reimbursement practices for Medicare and Medicaid.
- 4Knowledge of medical terminology and durable medical equipment is a plus.
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- 6Valid driver's license with a clean driving record when applicable.
- 7Ability to lift and carry office and patient equipment up to 35 lbs.
- 8Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively.
