Overview
You own the customer experience from first call to order delivery at a Dallas-area automation distributor, handling 50+ daily interactions across phone, email, and fax. What You'll Do10
- 1Take inbound calls and emails from customers to place orders, process returns, and answer product questions using ERP and CRM tools.
- 2Calculate delivery dates by checking vendor production schedules and shipping lead times, keeping customers informed proactively.
- 3Resolve customer issues by digging into root causes and offering practical solutions, escalating only when needed.
- 4Prepare accurate quotations and coordinate order details to support the outside sales team in closing deals.
- 5Set up new customer accounts with complete, accurate data in the ERP system, ensuring billing and shipping details are correct.
- 6Build strong relationships with supplier partners by acting as their on-site delegate and staying current on product updates.
- 7Identify upsell opportunities by matching customer needs with new products and services from our catalog.
- 8Schedule appointments for the outside sales team, optimizing travel routes and calendar priorities.
- 9Monitor stock levels for customer-specific inventory, flagging potential shortages before they impact orders.
- 10Contribute to weekly funnel meetings, sharing wins, challenges, and customer feedback to align team priorities.
Requirements8
- 11-3 years of customer service experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or technical sales environment.
- 2Associate's degree from an accredited college or technical school, or equivalent experience; requirement may be waived for the right candidate.
- 3Familiarity with ERP and CRM software, such as SAP, Oracle, or Salesforce, for order entry and account management.
- 4Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details clearly to customers.
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word for email, data tracking, and document preparation.
- 6A team-first mindset with a genuine desire to help customers succeed, even in high-pressure situations.
- 7Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced phone environment, handling 40-60 calls per day.
- 8Knowledge of automation products, including pneumatic components, valves, and actuators, is a plus.
