Custodian I - Veterans Living Community Center
Overview
The Custodian I leads custodial operations at the Veterans Community Living Center at Fitzsimons in Aurora CO. This full-time role involves maintaining facility cleanliness and supporting veteran residents. Candidates must have Colorado residency and be prepared for shift work across various shifts.
What You'll Do7
- 1Perform daily sweeping mopping vacuuming and restroom servicing in assigned work areas
- 2Maintain hard floors buffing scrubbing stripping waxing and shampooing extracting spot cleaning
- 3Execute monthly or on-request deep cleans disinfecting all surfaces furnishings beds and curtains
- 4Collect contain and transport general trash and bio-hazardous waste safely
- 5Operate cleaning equipment and apply disinfectants according to chemical labeling
- 6Keep custodian closets organized maintain equipment stock and distribute supplies
- 7Assist with moving furniture replacing light bulbs and minor building repairs
Requirements7
- 1Six months relevant experience in long-term care assisted living
- 2One year custodian experience with biohazardous waste handling
- 3State of Colorado residency at application and employment
- 4Pass TB test and obtain required vaccinations
- 5Ability to work rotating shifts including evenings nights and holidays
- 6Prior state employment termination disclosure and explanation
- 7Prerequisite: 5+ years experience in custodial roles
