Overview

What You'll Do19
- 1Perform on-call substitute services as a Career Technical Trade Instructor
- 2Teach basic principles and concepts of vocational skills to students
- 3Maintain discipline within classroom settings to maximize learning
- 4Coordinate curriculum development with academic instructors
- 5Use curricular resources to prepare classrooms
- 6Ensure adequate classroom preparation
- 7Meet performance management goals set by company and National Director of Job Corps
- 8Provide instruction and remedial training for industry certifications or advanced training
- 9Maintain student personal folders with test scores and attendance records
- 10Record and forward daily attendance to Records Department
- 11Assist in resume preparation for students
- 12Offer contextual learning opportunities to improve academic skills
- 13Work with Center Director for disability accommodations
- 14Update eTARs weekly based on student skill attainment
- 15Tailor instructional methods to individual student needs
- 16Comply with state regulations related to testing and certification
- 17Intervene to correct inappropriate student behavior
- 18Develop year-round job-shadowing opportunities
- 19Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements11
- 12 years experience in trade instruction
- 21 year teaching experience required
- 3High school diploma or equivalent
- 4Valid State Driver's License
- 5Certification by union or trade organization
- 6Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- 7Basic computer literacy including email and internet
- 8Ability to perform trade-specific instruction
- 9Strong communication and organizational skills
- 10Experience motivating and training students effectively
- 11Experience maintaining classroom discipline
