What You'll Do10

  • 1Develop and deliver CTE instruction that meets District curriculum and state guidelines, adapting to student needs.
  • 2Plan individualized study programs that target specific competencies required for each course.
  • 3Conduct safety training sessions and document compliance with OSHA and District requirements.
  • 4Maintain classroom discipline in accordance with local policy and foster a productive learning environment.
  • 5Partner with the Director of Career & Technical Education to design and revise curriculum, identifying needed changes.
  • 6Participate in staff development programs to stay current in CTE education and pedagogy.
  • 7Manage accurate records for local and state reporting, verifying student competency achievement.
  • 8Facilitate student involvement in approved leadership organizations such as SkillsUSA or DECA.
  • 9Advise the program advisory committee as requested and coordinate industry partnerships.
  • 10Coach students on resume writing, job applications, and workplace problem-solving, and conduct worksite visits at least six times per year.

Requirements9

  • 1Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • 2Valid Texas teaching certification in Career and Technical Education
  • 3One year of student teaching or approved internship preferred
  • 4General knowledge of curriculum and instruction in CTE
  • 5Ability to instruct and manage student behavior effectively
  • 6Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • 7Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and data for reporting
  • 8Willingness to travel within the district and statewide
  • 9Capability to handle physical demands and maintain emotional control under stress
