Critical Care RN Weekend Option
Overview
You own direct patient care in the Critical Care units at Riverview Health, working weekend shifts with a Registered Nurse license. You create and implement care plans, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians and other disciplines. You drive patient outcomes through accurate documentation and clear communication. This weekend option role offers predictable scheduling and the chance to precept new nurses.
What You'll Do9
- 1Create and implement a written care plan for each patient within the first 24 hours, adjusting based on reassessment and response to treatment.
- 2Administer medications accurately and on time per physician orders, documenting patient response and watching for allergic reactions.
- 3Document patient information in the EMR with accuracy and timeliness, meeting regulatory and policy standards.
- 4Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and families through clear, concise updates and verbal reports.
- 5Transition patients effectively through walking rounds, providing accurate and timely handoff to incoming staff.
- 6Assist with medical procedures as prescribed, maintaining working knowledge of critical care equipment and procedures.
- 7Delegate tasks to team members within their scope, and oversee care delivery in the critical care departments.
- 8Provide clear educational and discharge information to patients and families, ensuring understanding of post-care instructions.
- 9Precept new employees and attend department meetings to support team development and coordination.
Requirements6
- 1Associate of Science in Nursing from an accredited school by date of hire
- 2Registered Nurse license valid to practice in Indiana
- 3BLS (Basic Life Safety) certified through AHA
- 4ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within six months of hire
- 52+ years critical care experience preferred
- 6Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
