Cost Engineer Manufacturing Cost Analyst

What You'll Do14
- 1Develop detailed should-cost models for purchased components, raw materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier cost structures
- 2Analyze machining molding stamping fabrication assembly and other production operations to identify cost drivers and optimization opportunities
- 3Support supplier negotiations through fact-based cost analysis and benchmarking
- 4Evaluate supplier quotations and identify opportunities for cost reduction productivity improvements and value enhancement
- 5Partner with Engineering teams on design-to-cost and Value Analysis/Value Engineering initiatives
- 6Provide cost analysis and financial input during new product development and sourcing activities
- 7Monitor raw material pricing manufacturing costs labor trends and market conditions impacting supplier costs
- 8Develop cost breakdowns covering materials labor overhead tooling logistics and supplier margins
- 9Prepare reports presentations and recommendations for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- 10Support strategic sourcing decisions through cost modeling and risk assessment
- 11Maintain cost databases benchmarks and historical pricing information
- 12Collaborate with Purchasing Engineering Finance and Supply Chain teams to improve cost visibility and decision-making
- 13Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in cost analysis methodologies and reporting processes
- 14Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree
- 23+ years of experience in cost analysis within an automotive manufacturing setting
- 3Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers
- 4Experience analyzing purchased components supplier pricing or manufacturing operations
- 5Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis modeling and reporting
- 6Strong analytical problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- 7Experience with should-cost modeling and supplier cost analysis
- 8ERP system experience
- 9Familiarity with global sourcing and international supply chains
- 10Understanding of VAVE design-to-cost and cost reduction methodologies

$90 - $110k per year
