Corporate Development Deal Lead at OpenAI
Overview
You will own high-priority M&A and strategic transactions from sourcing to close at OpenAI. Reporting into the Corporate Development team, you will partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and executive leadership to evaluate and execute deals. Building deep relationships with founders and investors, you will shape OpenAI's inorganic strategy in the AI ecosystem. This role stands out for its hands-on ownership and the chance to build AI-native systems for Corp Dev.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead end-to-end execution of acquisitions and strategic investments, including sourcing, diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- 2Map the AI and tech landscape to translate startup and competitive trends into actionable insights for leadership.
- 3Source deals by cultivating relationships with venture, startup, and incubator networks.
- 4Partner with internal leaders to align external intelligence with OpenAI's strategic priorities.
- 5Drive cross-functional deal evaluation with Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and GTM teams.
- 6Build financial models and commercial cases to guide executive decisions.
- 7Prepare and present investment memos and board materials.
- 8Innovate with AI to improve Corp Dev workflows and tools.
- 9Define deal success metrics and integration plans with Integration peers.
Requirements9
- 112+ years leading M&A or strategic transactions in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or venture investing.
- 2Proven track record of closing complex deals in enterprise/B2B sectors.
- 3Deep experience analyzing emerging technologies and markets.
- 4Strong financial modeling, valuation, and negotiation skills.
- 5Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build process in a dynamic environment.
- 6Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
