Overview

You will own maintenance and troubleshooting of refinery control systems, specifically the Honeywell Experion DCS, across a 24/7 operating plant. You will join a team of five engineers supporting Candy and Greatbatch platforms, with direct accountability for system uptime and process stability. This contract role stands out for its exclusive focus on DCS integrity and the chance to drive reliability improvements in a mission-critical environment.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Diagnose and resolve Experion and Candy control system faults to minimize process disruptions.
  • 2Modify and configure DCS graphics, logic, and interlocks to support plant operations.
  • 3Coordinate with shift technicians to implement control changes during planned outages.
  • 4Lead root cause analysis for recurring control system failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • 5Test and validate DCS software updates and patches to maintain system stability.
  • 6Document all control system changes and maintain up-to-date DCS drawings and logic documentation.
  • 7Collaborate with process engineers to optimize control loops for product quality and energy efficiency.
  • 8Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and assist with on-call support rotation.

Requirements8

  • 17+ years of experience in industrial control systems, with at least 3 years on Honeywell Experion or TPS platforms.
  • 25+ years of hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of DCS hardware, including Candy and Greatbatch I/O modules.
  • 33+ years working in a refinery or petrochemical environment with High Availability systems.
  • 42+ years of experience with HMI graphics development and control narrative interpretation.
  • 55+ years of familiarity with Modbus, RS-485, and EtherNet/IP communication protocols.
  • 63+ years of experience writing and modifying SFC and FBD logic in a DCS environment.
  • 72+ years of experience with Siemens or Allen Bradley PLC systems as secondary control.
  • 810+ years total in industrial automation controls engineering.
