
Controls Analyst, Salt Lake City UT
Overview
You will provide temporary onsite controls systems support to ensure safe, reliable operations at a Salt Lake City facility. Working within a Strategic Staffing Solutions contract, you will report directly to the plant engineering team. You will troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based control systems, coordinate with production on HMI operations, and support SCADA integration. This 10+ month contract offers W2 employment with visa sponsorship available, setting it apart from typical staffing roles.
What You'll Do7
- 1Troubleshoot and diagnose PLC control system faults in real time to minimize production downtime.
- 2Modify HMI screens and logic to accommodate process changes within the first 90 days.
- 3Integrate SCADA data acquisition points and validate signal accuracy against field instruments.
- 4Calibrate sensors and actuators, documenting adjustments in the maintenance management system.
- 5Support preventive maintenance routines for control panels, drives, and EtherNet/IP networks.
- 6Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to implement safety interlock improvements.
- 7Develop and update control system documentation, including wiring diagrams and CMMS records.
Requirements7
- 12+ years of hands-on experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) in an industrial setting.
- 21+ year working with HMI/SCADA systems such as FactoryTalk or WinCC.
- 31+ year of experience with EtherNet/IP or Modbus communication protocols.
- 4Ability to read electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
- 5High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in controls or automation preferred.
- 6Willingness to work onsite in Salt Lake City with occasional overtime.
- 7U.S. work authorization or visa sponsorship eligibility required.
