Construction Estimator, Turnkey Concrete & Flatwork
Overview
Legacy Design Concrete seeks a Construction Estimator to own the full bid process for turnkey foundation and flatwork projects in Houston. You will translate architectural, engineering, and soil reports into accurate proposals using Excel and a digitizer board. You will coordinate with superintendents to create purchase orders and manage material costs with key vendors. This role stands out for its hands-on approach: you will also recycle surplus yard materials to cut project costs.
What You'll Do7
- 1Study blueprints, engineering reports, and soil reports to prepare concrete proposals.
- 2Build construction budgets by updating specifications and projecting costs for each elevation.
- 3Update the pricing formula template with steel, rebar, and concrete price changes from vendor relationships.
- 4Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing project data.
- 5Follow company rules to maintain quality service and accurate proposals.
- 6Coordinate with superintendents to issue purchase orders when job files are accepted.
- 7Recycle surplus materials from the yard for new jobs wherever possible.

- 1Excel proficiency is required for cost tracking and proposals.
- 2Digitizer board experience is required for creating takeoffs.
- 3Plan Swift experience is a plus for generating proposals.
- 4Ability to read architectural, engineering, and soil reports.
- 5Bilingual in Spanish is a strong plus.
