Overview

Lead Community Intervention Workers (CIW) in the GRYD Zone to reduce gang violence and improve community safety in Los Angeles. You own the 24/7 incident response and supervise a team of outreach workers, coordinating with LAPD, schools, and community organizations. Your day blends administrative oversight with hands-on fieldwork, ensuring clients receive Transitional Client Services and access to WorkSource, YouthSource, and FamilySource resources. This role demands a leader with deep ties to the community and proven experience in gang intervention, plus LAVITA certification.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Assign and monitor the CIW team's case load, ensuring 24/7 incident response within 30 minutes.
  • 2Audit all CIW case files twice monthly to ensure compliance and quality.
  • 3Lead deployment of staff to schools, gangs, and community organizations with weekly meetings.
  • 4Ensure CIWs submit client Social Embeddedness Tool (SET) results every week.
  • 5Meet weekly with case managers to review files, update client activities, and adjust plans.
  • 6Deliver Transitional Client Services and maintain a minimum of 11 FCM and 5 TCS active clients.
  • 7Conduct fieldwork to connect clients with WorkSource, YouthSource, and FamilySource services.
  • 8Plan and execute gang reduction events and safe passage efforts in the GRYD Zone.
  • 9Maintain the triangle of protocol with LAPD and the GRYD Office.
  • 10Participate in 24/7 incident response coverage and transport clients as needed.

Requirements8

  • 1LAVITA (Los Angeles Violence Intervention Training Academy) certification required.
  • 23+ years of experience working with at-risk families, individuals, or gang populations.
  • 3Pass a fingerprint clearance and background check including criminal history, references, and verifications.
  • 4Ability to perform under emotional stress and conflict with difficult, uncooperative, or aggressive clients.
  • 5Work on-site daily in Los Angeles, California.
  • 6Preferred: Trained on the GRYD Model and ETO Database.
  • 7Preferred: Basic Microsoft Office navigation (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • 8Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.
