CNC Programmer Position in Portland
Overview
We seek a skilled CNC Programmer to create precise programs for 3-axis and 4-axis machines in a project-based role. This contract position lasts 4–6 months in Portland OR offering competitive pay. You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to clear backlogs while maintaining high quality standards.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build accurate CNC production programs using Mastercam for 3-axis and 4-axis mills
- 2Develop and refine programs through manual coding and Mastercam techniques
- 3Program multiple machines and prove out safety correct execution
- 4Interpret blueprints to translate designs into executable CNC code
- 5Collaborate with teams to optimize machining strategies and reduce cycle times
- 6Demonstrate new programs to operators for proper setup
- 7Troubleshoot issues based on shop floor feedback
- 8Maintain organized documentation for repeatable production
- 9Work autonomously while seeking support when needed
- 10Ensure high-quality outputs aligned with production goals
- 11Communicate effectively with operators and leadership
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2CPC Card certification
- 3AWS Certified cloud expertise
- 4Proficiency in Mastercam for CNC programming
- 5Experience with 3-axis and 4-axis mill programming
- 6Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- 7Strong project management skills for 4–6 month engagements
- 8Flexibility for part-time or off-shift availability
- 9Metal part production environment experience
- 10Familiarity with multi-machine programming workflows
- 11Commitment to continuous process optimization
