What You'll Do10
- 1Drive project planning and execution for turnkey CNC machining systems, from initial scope definition to final acceptance, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule.
- 2Build and lead project teams, assigning resources, setting priorities, and resolving conflicts to maintain momentum across simultaneous manufacturing builds.
- 3Manage project budgets, tracking costs, forecasting burn, and implementing corrective actions to protect margin on $500K+ engagements.
- 4Coordinate with clients weekly, presenting progress, resolving technical issues, and securing sign-offs at each milestone.
- 5Direct supplier selection and procurement of CNC machinery, tooling, and components, benchmarking options and validating technical fit.
- 6Oversee MS Project or Primavera schedules, integrating tasks, dependencies, and resource loads to align with plant capacity.
- 7Monitor project performance, maintaining compliant documentation, risk logs, and change orders for audit-ready reporting.
- 8Provide hands-on technical guidance to machinists and engineers, troubleshooting CNC program issues and optimizing machining processes.
- 9Facilitate design reviews and technical analysis for new equipment, ensuring alignment with production requirements and quality standards.
- 10Mentor junior project staff, sharing best practices in turnkey manufacturing and CNC automation to elevate team capability.
Requirements10
- 13+ years managing turnkey manufacturing projects, from initiation through completion, with proven delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
- 23+ years overseeing budgets, schedules, and teams, with hands-on use of MS Project or Primavera for resource and task management.
- 3Strong command of CNC manufacturing practices, including precision machinery, benchmarking, and supplier evaluation.
- 4Demonstrated ability to direct staff, allocate resources, and manage client interactions on complex machining system builds.
- 5BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with advanced degrees considered a plus.
- 6PMP certification or willingness to obtain, with project management methodology experience preferred.
- 7Proven record of monitoring project performance, maintaining compliant documentation, and delivering accurate reporting.
- 8Experience procuring CNC equipment and components, including technical analysis and final selection.
- 9Legal authorization to work in the US, including US citizens, Canadian/Mexican citizens eligible for TN visas, or US Green Card holders.
- 10Pass pre-hire checks including background, drug screen, and professional references.
