What You'll Do7
- 1Design machine frames, enclosures, and structural weldments using NX CAD software, applying GD&T per ANSI Y14.5 standards.
- 2Select and integrate Bosch Rexroth linear motion systems, including ball screws and linear guides, into CNC axis layouts.
- 3Engineer tool changers and spindle assemblies, ensuring compatibility with hydraulic and pneumatic actuation systems.
- 4Conduct tolerance stack-up and finite element analysis to verify structural integrity and motion control accuracy.
- 5Collaborate with manufacturing teams to refine castings and machined components for production efficiency.
- 6Support customer-facing design reviews and onsite commissioning trips, typically 10-20% overnight travel.
- 7Create and revise engineering documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and technical specifications.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of recent engineering experience designing CNC machinery or similar industrial equipment.
- 2Proficiency with NX CAD; comparable experience with SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or CATIA considered.
- 3Solid grasp of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and machine structure design (frames, enclosures, weldments).
- 4Hands-on knowledge of linear motion systems (Bosch Rexroth preference), spindles, axis drives, and tool changers.
- 5Familiarity with materials selection, castings, and machined components for heavy-duty machine tools.
- 6BS or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; recent graduates welcome.
- 7Eligibility to work in the USA without sponsorship: US Citizens, Canadian/Mexican citizens with TN visa eligibility, or Green Card holders.
