CNC Mill Machinist Job in Charlotte, NC | Top Pay
Overview
You will own CNC milling operations at a 200,000 sq ft facility, producing large custom parts for leading manufacturers. You will program and operate Mazak mills with Mazatrol or Virtual Gibbs, and you'll work with 5-axis programming. The shop runs 20 hours a day with 22 overhead cranes, and you'll be part of a team of machinists and engineers. This role stands out because of the scale of parts and the variety of capabilities, including fabrication, welding, and assembly.
What You'll Do8
- 1Program and set up CNC mills using Mazatrol or Virtual Gibbs to produce precision parts within tolerance.
- 2Operate and monitor machines during production, making adjustments to maintain quality and meet specifications.
- 3Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure conformance to blueprints.
- 4Collaborate with engineers and quality technicians to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
- 5Troubleshoot and debug programs and tooling to minimize downtime and scrap.
- 6Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
- 7Document work performed and maintain accurate records for traceability.
- 8Assist with 5-axis programming and machining when needed, leveraging Mastercam or GibbsCAM.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of CNC milling experience in a machine shop environment.
- 2Proficiency in Mazatrol or Virtual Gibbs programming.
- 3Ability to write and edit programs at the machine.
- 4Experience with 5-axis programming is a plus.
- 5Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
- 6Experience with large part machining is preferred.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent.
- 8ISO 9001:2015 experience is a plus.
