What You'll Do10
- 1Build and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills to produce precision parts from engineering drawings
- 2Interpret blueprints and job travelers to determine machining requirements and proper tooling
- 3Select, install, and adjust cutting tools and workholding devices for accurate machining
- 4Perform machine offsets and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances throughout a production run
- 5Monitor feeds, speeds, and tooling to optimize performance and part quality
- 6Inspect parts with calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and quality
- 7Identify and troubleshoot machining issues including tool wear and surface finish problems
- 8Maintain clean work area and adhere to safety procedures while operating machines
- 9Collaborate with production team to meet daily output targets and support continuous improvement
- 10Document setups and tool changes for reproducibility in follow-on runs
Requirements10
- 13–5 years of experience operating CNC milling machines in a production environment
- 2Hands-on experience with both 3-axis and 5-axis milling operations
- 3Proficiency with CNC mill setup including tooling, fixtures, and workholding
- 4Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machining instructions
- 5Solid understanding of feeds and speeds and tool selection
- 6Experience holding tight tolerances and producing consistent parts
- 7Competence using standard measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- 8Commitment to safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment
- 9Experience in precision machining or tool and die environments preferred
- 10Strong attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team
