CNC Machinist Mill II, CNC Milling & Machining
Overview
You will own the production of precision milled components for commercial, aerospace, and government clients at Athena Manufacturing's Austin facility. You'll program, set up, and run CNC Mills to hold tight tolerances, working with M2M and SFM systems. What You'll Do8
- 1Read work orders and blueprints to determine product specs and material needs.
- 2Set up and operate CNC Mills, lathes, and grinders to machine parts to exact specifications.
- 3Mount tools, fixtures, and materials, then align and secure them for precise cutting.
- 4Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and calipers to verify conformance.
- 5Monitor machine feed and speed during runs to catch flaws and adjust as needed.
- 6Sharpen cutting and grinding tools to maintain performance.
- 7Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety protocols, including wearing PPE.
- 8Support 2 Second Lean initiatives by identifying daily improvements in your work cell.
Requirements9
- 12+ years of consistent work experience, with machining experience a plus.
- 2High School Diploma or GED.
- 3Arm-hand steadiness for precise tool control.
- 4Finger and manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools.
- 5Near vision to read measurements and details up close.
- 6Control precision to adjust machine controls quickly and repeatedly.
- 7Ability to lift 50+ lbs continuously and heavier with assistance.
- 8Comfortable with technology and coachable on M2M and SFM systems.
- 9Read and understand written instructions and specs.
